With a typical Brinell hardness of around 360–440 HB, AR400 provides reliable protection against moderate to heavy wear caused by friction, impact, or sliding contact with abrasive materials. While not as hard as specialized premium grades such as Hardox 500, AR400 is often sufficient for less extreme environments where cost-efficiency and ease of fabrication are important.
